600 x 600 x 50mm BSS Natural Grey Pressed Concrete Flag - also known as '2 x 2 Council Slabs'
The 2 x 2 relates to the old imperial sized paving slabs of 2 foot x 2 foot.
British Standard concrete paving flags are suitable for high volume pedestrian areas, town centres, shopping precincts and footways as well as occasional car or mechanical sweeper overrun, footways with cars and HGV vehicle or service areas.
That said, these heavy duty paving slabs are very commonly used the length and breadth of the UK to provide a budget paving solution for domestic patios, paths, shed bases and driveways. If using on areas where cars will be driven or parked, care must be taken to ensure a suitable base is in place before paving commences. A minimum depth of 100mm of MOT Type 1 (or similar) should be laid in thin layers and compacted to a good level finish with a roller or 'wacker plate'.
In most instances, slabs supplied will be either from Marshalls or Charcon. In certain areas of the UK, these may not be available and another manufacturer's slab will be sent. All are manufacturered to the same BS EN 1339.
Weight per slab is 43kg so care must be taken when handling.
