LBC Sandfaced Brick
The LBC Sandfaced brick, manufactured by Forterra (formerly Hanson), is a pressed brick, red in colour, with light texture. These bricks are at the cornerstone of British housing architecture. Belonging to the historic London Brick Company (LBC) family, these bricks are deeply rooted in the UK’s building heritage, renowned for their traditional aesthetic.
During manufacturing, a fine layer of sand is applied to the face of the wet clay before firing. This process strips away the smooth, raw look of standard pressed bricks, replacing it with a matte, finely textured finish. This subtle roughness helps diffuse light, masking minor imperfections and giving the brickwork a softer, more established look from day one.
