IG L1/HD75 Cavity Wall Lintel - Heavy Duty Loading. Used for smaller cavity widths in walls up to 295mm wide.

L1 lintels have a ‘top hat’ profile and are made from high quality galvanised steel. They benefit from a fully insulated centre section which satisfies the thermal bridging requirements for all UK Building Control offices.

Standard IG Lintels also benefit from having a non-continuous thermal break plate. Basically, the inner leaf is warmer as it has no contact with the cold outside leaf.

Lintel installation & suitable applications

These lintels will suit:

Inner Leaf: 100 - 115mm

Cavity: 70 - 85mm

Outer Leaf: 100 - 105mm

Blockwork built tight against inner face of the lintel. Place mortar bed on top of blockwork before floor units are laid to provide even distribution of load. Lintels may be propped to facilitate speed of construction.

Please click on the load table under the main product image for the safe working loadings (SWL) for each length. Also take care to make sure that the lintel selected has a minimum of 150mm bearing at either side of the opening for lintel lengths up to 4000mm; anything above this should have a minimum 200mm bearing.
