IG HD BOX 100 Box Lintel - Heavy Duty Loading. Used to form openings on single solid internal and external walls.
Box lintels have a rectangular profile and are made from high quality galvanised steel.
With perforations along the length, this acts as a plaster key.
Lintel installation & suitable applications
These lintels will suit:
Inner or outer Leaf: 100mm
Box Lintels must have a minimum end bearing of 150mm on each side of the opening, bedded on mortar. Level the lintel along its length and across its width. Masonry built must be laid on a mortar bed and all perpendicular joints to be filled with mortar. Care should be taken to avoid shock loading on box lintels when used in conjunction with concrete floors or other heavy units.
Please click on the load table link below for the safe working loadings (SWL) for each length. Also take care to make sure that the lintel selected has a minimum of 150mm bearing at either side of the opening for lintel lengths up to 4000mm; anything above this should have a minimum 200mm bearing.
