Earthwool® Loft Roll 44 is an unfaced glass mineral wool roll which is lightweight, flexible, resilient and non-combustible. Earthwool® Loft Roll 44 is perforated along its length at half and one third widths to allow easy splitting on-site to the required width for the provision of thermal and acoustic insulation in new build lofts and also loft conversions. This gives either 2 rolls at 570mm wide or 3 rolls at 380mm wide. These rolls are also known as Combi-cut/Combi-rolls.
All Knauf Insulation mineral wool products benefit from a revolutionary, bio-based, formaldehyde-free binder technology, based on rapidly renewable materials, instead of petro-based chemicals. It reduces embodied energy and delivers superior environmental sustainability. Such technology enhances the environmental credentials without affecting the thermal, fire or acoustic performance. All products with ECOSE®Technology are completely natural and free from any dyes.
Earthwool® Loft Roll 44 represents no known threat to the environment and has zero Ozone Depletion Potential and zero Global Warming Potential.
Earthwool® Loft Roll 44 has a thermal conductivity rating of 0.044 W/mK. These coupled with a Euroclass A1 to BS EN 13501-1 fire rating ensure that good performance levels are reached without breaking the bank. A better performing Earthwool® Loft Roll 40 which has a conductivity rating of 0.040 W/mk can also be supplied on request.
Earthwool® Loft Roll 44 is as the name suggests primarily used for insulating between joists at ceiling level in a pitched roof. To meet current building regulations it is usually laid in 2 layers at right angles to each other.
Another common use is for thermally insulating in between floor joists. It is also sometimes used as a basic type of sound insulation between the studwork of partition walls.
