The benefits of Treatment Plants
When you’re building a property, if you don’t have connection to a mains sewer, you need to choose an alternative domestic sewage disposal system.
Treatment plants go one step further than a septic tank. Their main benefit is that the end result is a clean, non-polluting effluent, which can discharge directly to a water course.
Treatment plants also have low level visibility with a lockable cover making them safe for children and pets, plus their controlled ventilation minimises the risk of odour.
They are easy to install with low running and maintenance costs; emptying intervals vary between models, but annual desludging is usually recommended.
Once your treatment plant is in place, you’ll have the freedom to concentrate on developing the property, knowing the basics are taken care of
How do Treatment Plants work?
Within the single tank of the treatment plant, the coarse solids are filtered and retained for gradual breakdown, then the filtered liquid is continuously distributed over a suspended filter to maximise the aerobic process. The resulting, clean effluent is discharged to a water course.
How do I choose the right one?
Treatment plants need to be suitable for the number of people living in the property and our models are differentiated in this way.
If your watercourse is some distance away from the treatment plant outlet pipe, you may need a model that can pump the treated water away.
