Universal Metal Liner System
This range of channels and accessories is designed especially for plasterboard linings on masonry walls, concrete soffits, timber joists, and the encasement of steel columns and beams.
What is Universal Metal Lining?
Metal wall and ceiling linings are galvanised lightweight steel sections that are formed with a stud and track type system that when installed is virtually independent.
The ‘U’ shaped track is fixed to walls, floors and ceilings (differs depending on whether being used as wall or ceiling system) with care being taken that they are plumb/level with each other. The BGL2, BGL9 or BGL12 fixing brackets are then fitted at the correct centres prior to the studs being twisted in the channel to friction fit before securing with 13mm Wafer Head screws. The stand-offs can be adjusted between 25 – 175mm to suit.
If required, insulation or services can then be placed in the voids prior to the fitting of the final boarding. This is usually plasterboard but plywood can also be used.
